Who We Are
We are a law office based in Southern Maine focusing on the needs of seniors and their families in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. We consider ourselves an Elder Law office with a strong focus on Healthcare Advocacy.
Our office consists of my wife, Jennie Cutten and me, Michael Guy. We were both born and raised here in Kittery and are lifelong residents of the seacoast area.
Background
I have worked in retail audio sales for Tweeter Etc. and Cookin’ and as a Bridge Troll (a gatekeeper on the old Memorial and Sarah Long Bridges that connect southern Maine and New Hampshire by spanning the Piscataqua River). I also founded and operated Soho Technology Corporation. After which, in my 40’s, I returned to complete my education. I graduated magna cum laude with a degree in English from the University of Southern Maine in Portland in 2007 and from the Massachusetts School of Law in 2010. I was admitted by the Supreme Judicial Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to practice law in 2011. The Supreme Judicial Court of Maine and the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims admitted me to practice law in 2014. In 2017, I was admitted to the New Hampshire Bar.
Jennie worked for the federal government for many years as a human resources professional and has worked with several law offices as a legal secretary and finance manager. Her intelligence and experience make the office work. Without her loving kindness, our clients would not have the experience that they do.
Life Experience
We both have had the pleasure of caring for family members and many others by managing their healthcare and advocating for them when they could not. We have been and have assisted others to be effective Healthcare Advocates in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Florida. In doing so, we have worked with numerous medical, administrative and insurance organizations and home health care agencies. It is that engagement with the medical industry that provided us with the unique perspective that enables us to help in ways that traditional law offices cannot.
Commitment
It is our hands-on experience in managing all aspect of elder care and the associated medical bureaucracy when combined with our joint skill set and a modern legal education that makes the Law Office of Michael J. Guy a unique and valuable resource when the time comes to understand your healthcare and aging concerns and those of your loved ones.
We’ll help you take care of your parents, other loved ones and yourself.
